WonderCon 2014

I'll be a WonderCon in Anaheim, CA on Saturday, April 19th. I won't have a table but I'll be appearing on a panel, doing portfolio reviews and drawing a few portraits for the CONVENTION PORTRAIT PROJECT.

PANEL

The Hand That Draws: Art Directors Guild Illustrators Who Work in Two Worlds
Trevor Goring (storyboard artist, Thor: The Dark World), Gabriel Hardman(storyboard artist, Inception), Benton Jew (storyboard artist, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), and Aaron Sowd (storyboard artist, After Earth) discuss the challenges and joys of working on comic books and graphic novels as well as movies, TV, and commercials in this session moderated by Tim Burgard (storyboard artist, Jurassic World).
Saturday April 19, 2014 11:30am - 12:30pm

Please come to this panel and ask a question about process of craft. I would appreciate it.

PORTFOLIO REVIEW

I'll be doing portfolio reviews for an hour on Saturday. Please come by. I'm happy to do reviews, particularly of sequential storytelling work and I think I give pretty decent advice if I do say so myself. And I promise, I won't be mean to you.

Saturday April 19, 2014 3:30am - 4:30pm

THE CONVENTION PORTRAIT PROJECT

I'm planning on doing a few portraits as part of my current project. Drawing these was a great experience at Emerald City and I'm dying to do more. It's going to be a lot trickier at WonderCon since I'll only be there for a day and don't have a table. I'm not letting this deter me though. If you're interested in sitting for 20-30 minutes to have your portrait drawn, find me after my panel or after the portfolio review session listed above. You can also tweet at me @gabrielhardman to arrange a time and location at the con for me to draw the portrait. As always, I keep the drawing but I'll happily send you a high res scan after the show.  I'll only be doing the sketches in pencil for WonderCon since the brush/ink set up is too difficult without a table of my own.
